Habituation is the process of diminishing a response to frequently happening stimulus. In the snail's case, this is touchiing.
This example represents habituation behavior.
Habituation is a type of non-associative learning in which the response of an animal to a particular stimulus diminishes after a repeated exposure to that stimulus. The organism learns that its response to the repeated stimulus have no consequences (or not biologically relevant) and decides not to pay attention to the stimulus again.
