A crow's tail is shaped like a fan, while the raven's tail appears wedge-shaped. Another clue is to listen closely to the birds' calls. Crows give a cawing sound, but ravens produce a lower croaking sound.
The main difference between a crow & raven is size because ravens are bigger in size, have a stronger built, body structure & have a thick and more pointed sharp beak as compared to a crow. Ravens also travel in pairs while crows travel in larger groups.Crows also give a cawing sound while ravens produce more of a lower croaking sound.
