It depends on you, on the weather, and on your age. For most people from about eight to about thirty, hair grows about 3/4 of an inch a month. It tends to grow faster in warmer weather, perhaps an inch a month, and somewhat slower in cold weather. That's the hair on your head, of course. Hair grows roughly as fast as fingernails. And when you get older, the hair tends to become brittle and break off; that makes it look as if it is growing slower. Some people have hair that grows faster, and some have slow-growing hair, but most people are pretty close to the average of .75 inch per month. Figure nine inches a year as a good average.
