Korean Language question
I've been trying to learn Korean for a month now. I've been teaching myself so I dont have an official "teacher" but sometimes I literally can't hear what they are saying. I have a general grasp on Hangul and the language but when I try and apply what I know to speaking or talking to another person it sounds like all the words are melded together and I can only understand a few select words and phrases; and I can't piece together what they are saying unless the person I'm talking to accentuates it. Any advice?

Some advice I learned while learning Korean, there is the South Korean language and the North Korean language. South Korean leanguage is more modernized and the North Korean language would be considered like old school. I suggest that you start by watching K dramas those help alot, by watching them you learn words like oppa or halmoni.

Watching K-dramas and listening to K-pop has really helped me get a grasp on how the native speakers speak, also interviews and game shows with Korean Idols and English subtitles; like Man on a Mission, and After School Club. Some of my favourite K-dramas are To Be Continued, and I Am Not A Robot, also any of the K-dramas they have on Netflix are really helpful.
