The older population is the population that uses the healthcare system the most, because it is a natural trend that as people get older they develop much more health conditions because the body is becoming weaker, and the immune system is slowly falling apart. The fact that the fertility rate is not very big in the United States, and also that the life expectancy is going in an upward manner, means that the percentage of the older population will systematically grow, and because of that, more and more medical stuff will be needed to satisfy the demand for the medical services.
