Hi! I don't know if this will be much help, but maybe the lookalikes/copies (or whatever you choose to call them) could need their help for an important task. For example;
*One is from the future, and has collected all the persons from over the time period (past, present, future, etc.) for whatever reason, maybe to help one of the persons not die, because if that one particular dies, the rest of them will vanish from existence.
*Something is going to happen, like a big mistake, (government is overthrown/ you choose!)
And that's why they need their help!
