A public service announcement or PSA is a message that contains information of public interest. It is usually not charged by broadcasting companies or written media. Its objective is to raise awareness towards a particular social issue or change public behavior regarding a particular situation.
Examples of public announcements are communications which governments make in times of war when the President or the Secretary of State tries to address the nation in order to inform or justify the actions taken in conflict to sway the public opinion.
