Finding the size of angle θ using the Trigonometry ratio
Tan θ = [tex] \frac{opposite}{adjacent} [/tex] = [tex] \frac{5}{2.25} [/tex] = 2.222...
θ = [tex] Tan^{2}(2.2222....) [/tex] = 65.8 (one decimal place)
Then using the value of θ to find the height of the tree
Tan θ = [tex] \frac{oppoaite}{5.4} [/tex]
2.22... = [tex] \frac{x}{5.4} [/tex]
[tex]x=12[/tex] feet
