“The right-handed twin accused his brother of murdering their mother, and their quarrels continued until it was time to bury their mother. With the help of their grandmother, they made her a grave. From her head grew the three sister plants: corn, beans, and squash. From her heart grew tobacco, which people still use to give thanks in ceremony. She is called ‘our mother’ and the people dance and sing to her to make the plants grow.”

You can infer that traditions are very important, since they stop fighting for such an important matter in order to send away their mother in the proper way of their culture.

It is also very interesting to see how they respect and protect the tree that, it seems, holds the essence of their loved ones in many ways.

It also seems that crop is just as important to their culture as family is.

The passage gives the idea about the values of the Iroquois to be good as well as the evil spirit. The brothers have an evil culture as they were fighting while their mother was murdered. However, the good culture depicts their love for the trees and the garden.

The cultural values of the Iroquois can be considered evil as they murdered their mother. In spite of taking care of and treating her well in her last time, the brothers were quarreling at the moment.

However, the good quality of the Iroquois has their love towards nature.

After burying their mother, they grew plants and take care of them. They grew corn, beans, squash, and tobacco and give them in the thanks ceremony.
