The diagonals of rhombus ABCD intersect at point E. The area of ABCD is 168 in^2 If ED = 8 inches, find AC.
A. 16 inches
B. 21 inches
C. 24 inches
D. 42 inches

Respuesta :

Area of Rhombus = [tex] \frac{(diagonal 1) * (diagonal 2)}{2} [/tex]

Diagonal DB = 2×8 = 16

To find AC, we substitute into the formula the area 168 in² and DB of 16 in

Area = [tex] \frac{DB*AC}{2} [/tex]
[tex]168= \frac{16*AC}{2} [/tex]
[tex]336=16*AC[/tex]
[tex]AC= \frac{336}{16}=21 [/tex] inches
