Which is the best approximation for the solution of the system of equations? y=-2/5x+1 y=3x-2

Respuesta :

irspow
If a solution exists we can say y=y so we can say:

3x-2=-2x/5+1

3x-2=(-2x+5)/5

15x-10=-2x+5

17x=15

x=15/17, which makes y=-2x/5+1 become:

y=(-2/5)(15/17)+1

y=-6/17+1

y=(-6+17)/17

y=11/17

So the solution to the system is:

(15/17, 11/17)

This is assuming that what you typed for the equations is what you meant...

y=-0.4x+1 and y=3x+2
