PLEASE HELP :D
The graph of f(x)=3√ x is shifted down one unit and seven units to the left. Write the equation of the resulting function.

Respuesta :

The new equation would be 3[sqrt(x+7)] - 1.  The side to side movement goes with the x (cuz the x axis runs horizontally, and the up and down movement goes outside the square root sign to indicate up or down movement.  If the function move up one unit that -1 would be a +1 instead

Answer:

f(x) = cube root x+7 (cube root ends) -1

h=horizontal movement

k=vertical movement

(h,k)

h=7 to the left=-7

k=down one=-1

however, we must remember that h is actually the opposite sign, so you must flip -7 to 7

you are left with:

f(x) = cube root x+7 (cube root ends) -1

standard equation f(x) = cube root x-h (cube root ends) +k
