GRADE 12 DATA MANAGEMENT!!! HELP PLEASE


The Leafs’ coach stated that “the likelihood of us winning the next game are 2/9, the likelihood of tying the next game are 1/2, and likelihood of us loosing the next game are 2/5”. Can the coach’s predictions be entirely correct? Justify your response

Well all of the probabilities must be equal to one....

2/5+1/2+2/9

(36+45+20)/90

101/90

So he obviously has serious issues with mathematics :P

By these numbers there is about 112% chance that they will either win, lose, or tie.  However there can be at most a 100% chance of anything :)
