"Things Fall Apart" is a novel written by Nigerian Author Chinua Achebe in 1958. The book tells the story of Okonkwo, a wrestling champion and the leader of his village in Umuofia. The whole background in the book is an allusion of Achebe's birthplace. The Nigerian town of Ogidi. The customs described in the story are similar to the cultural practices enacted by the Onitsha people, who live near Achebe's town of Ogidi.
