To solve equations, all we must do is isolate the variable and simplify. In this case, we need to get rid of the "/7" because it i with our "e." To do this, we should do the reverse operation of "/7" on both sides, and them simplify.

-5=e/7
*7   *7
-35=e

Using the math above, we can see that e=-35.
If we're solving for "e" than follow these steps (if you want to)

[tex]Problem: -5 = \frac{e}{7} [/tex]

[tex]Step^1:[/tex] go through all of the factors of [tex]5 [/tex] or [tex]7[/tex] to find your answer  (you don't have to do this step if you don't want to)
[tex]7(-1)= -7 \\ 7(-2) = -14 \\ 7(-3)= -21 \\ 7(-4) = -28\\ 7(-5)= -35 \\ \\ OR \\ \\ \frac{7}{-1} = -7 \\ \frac{-14}{7} = -2 \\ \frac{-21}{7} = -3 \\ \frac{-28}{7} = -4\\ \frac{-35}{7} = -5 [/tex]

Answer:
[tex]e = -35 [/tex]

Good luck on your assignment and have great day
