So, we have a value which is 23. We want to algebraically write this to say that this value we have is less than this variable we have.
In order to do this, we're going to use the algebraic symbol for 'less than', which is <.
If you look closely, you can see that the smallest part of the symbol is pointing to the number which is less than another number!
We also have other possibilities such as saying greater than, which we would use the > symbol for.
Another variation is saying less than or equal to, or greater than or equal to. To do this, we just add an equal sign at the end! (<=, >=).
Now time to answer the question -
To write in algebraically, we would put 23 < x.
