The Marshall Plan also called The European Recovery Program,  was the policy of the US to its european allies mainly: France, England, and later the capital German state that formed when WWII came to an end.

As the conflict was a "total war", this reflected on the generalized destruction of cities, infrastructure, roads and almost all territories that needed urgent reconstruction. The Marshall Plan was a series of loans to encourage a rapid revival of European economic, and also served as a meachanism for expanding American influence as emerged a superpower.

The key for reconstructing former devasted lands was also strategically seen as a counter balance of power in a time where communist uprisings could also take place.

The Marshall Plan also increased the trade between the US and Europe and also influenced heavly later the culture of consume and shaped European lifestyles and consumer patterns.

The goal of the Marshall Plan was to help Europe, to regain a good economy and to help in the prevention of spreading of Soviet communism.

The Marshall Plan which was also known as the European recovery program was a Program by the United States and the motive of this program was to provide aid to the Western Europe as it was devastated because of World War 2. Along with the economical support to Western Europe, another reason that the United States introduced Marshall Plan was that the US wanted to stop any possibility of the spread of communism in the European countries post World War 2.
