It showed the shift of political tolerance of African Americans. It showed that all African Americans preferred to live in the South. It showed that the North and South had equal opportunities for African Americans. It showed that African Americans finally had equal rights with whites.

During the great migration, Many people from the south decided to abandon their agricultural field move into northern states in pursuit of job opportunities as a labour workers for factories. It is recorded that more than 6 million people migrated from southern states to the northern states at that time.
