This equation factors to (x-1)^2. So, the solution is 1.

using the formula  x = [-(-2) +/- sqrt((-2)^2 - 4*1*1)] /  2

=  2 +/- sqrt 0
    --------------     = 2/2  = 1
           2

The solution is x = 1  Duplicity 2

Factoring we have (x - 1)(x - 1)  = 0  which  is x = 1 Duplicity 2
