Athens Democracy features the ability of Athen's citizen to taking part in the government.

The citizen took part in the Athens' assembly, where law are debated, voted and passed into law. Therefore, every citizen plays a great part in the Athens democracy.

Therefore, Athens did not have a king because the people believed that no group of people should make the laws, rather, the citizens should choose the government officials.

Therefore, the Athens democracy serves as root to modern democracy because the idea to votes, debate or assemble law is similar to the Ancient Greek democracy.
