A train leaves a station at 10:40 a.m. and arrives at its destination at 1:20 p.m. Find the distance between the stations if the average speed of the train was 60 mph.

2.6 miles is the distance in between. From 10:40 am to 1:20pm is 2 hours and 40 minutes. There are 60 minutes in an hour. 60x2=120+40=160 minutes in all. Then divide 160 by the 60 mph = 2.6 miles
