It was Jackie Robinson who broke "the color barrier" and  also paved the way for African American integration into professional spots. Being him African American, he could be an example and he helped to open doors for other players. He played baseball in the major leagues so he was well-known and it helped to make the cause more visible.

It was either Jackie Chan or Jackie Robinson. I'm not sure if Jackie Chan was that old though, not sure.
