The signs of chemical reactions include gas formation, energy release in the form of light or flame, heat absorption, precipitate formation, and color change. 

I can know that a chemical reaction is occurring by appearance of color, appearance of a solid, evolution of a gas or absorption or evolution of heat.

A chemical change is also called a chemical reaction. It involves the recombination of atoms present in two or more substances to form a new substance(s) called the product(s).

During the process of chemical change, certain cues can help us know that a chemical change has taken place. Such cues include;

  • appearance of color
  • appearance of a solid
  • evolution of a gas
  • absorption or evolution of heat
