The night before Morris's Visit is full of excitement and nostalgia. They're overall pretty happy that evening. Maybe a bit nervous about wishing but still not sad. The next morning, they find out that their wish came true but at the cost of their son's life. So the mood for that morning would be devastating or depressing.
