Explain the significance of reaction coupling in living systems. how is it used, and what does it allow living systems to do that they would not be able to do otherwise?

ATP is broken down, the ATP is hybrolyzed, ATP is splitted into ATP, 
phosphate, and energy from the bonds.
The catabolic/exergonic-energy comes from ATP's bonds). The goal is to drive forward endergonic processes (anabolic-uses energy up).
This catabolic reaction can be used to power anabolic reactions.
