The federal act mention above is the Combat Methamphetamine Epidemic Act of 2005. This act aims to regulate the selling of certain over-the-counter medicine because they could be used in the production of illegal drugs. These three regulated medicines are ephedrine, pseudoephedrine and phenylpropanolamine.
