D. Tenor banjo
The orchestra was one of the first to include a tenor
banjo as one of its instruments. Still stated that the banjo was included in
the orchestra to add a local flavour and represent African-American culture.
Tenor banjos have four strings and have a shorter neck compared to regular
banjos. Tenor banjos are typically used in Jazz music.
