Answer:

Explanation:

The Eastern Woodland Indians were different indigenous tribes that lived across an important extension of territory in North America, located between the borders of the Atlantic ocean, Great lakes, New Mexico and great plains mainly.

The Eastern Woodland tribes were very successful compared to other ones located in others part of the national territory because:

1) they were benefited by really fertile lands and plenty of sources of wáter, like the Mississippi river, this way they started to stay in the same place, allowing to evolve and adapt to the territory in a more effective way.

2) due to the previous reason ( 1), they adopted a sedentary behavior that allowed them to be successful, depending of resources from the fertile land, and not for hunting or by other activity , besides this, they started an organized social system, that allowed them to consolidate power and control in the área.

For the newcomers (early settlers) was difficult to have similar results, because.

1) Weather conditions, territory knowledge and not knowing the normal functioning of a new land for, were key points.

2) the power and influence the natives had there was really important as well, it was difficult for the newcomers to change this.
