B) He is not heroic
Mr. Flood's party is a poem centered around a modern man, he feels alienated and alone in a world that has become for him meaningless. However, how he deals with this meaninglessness is what grants him the title of a hero, an existential hero or a modern hero. He becomes a hero insofar as he creates meaning for himself in a meaningless world. Here is a passage that points to this:
