Typically, there will be fewer job opportunities for the mother. This is because pregnancy and child rearing cause mothers to be (often) unable to work, as they have to dedicate time to the baby. Secondly, adolescent mothers have a much higher dropout rate, so they aren't eligible for jobs that require a high school degree. This significantly narrows the scope of job opportunities for them.
