"How the Other Half Lives: Studies Among the Tenements of New York" was a book published in 1890 by Jacob A. Riis. It is famous for documenting the poverty, hunger, homelessness and misery that plagued large cities during the Industrial Revolution. Riis was a Danish immigrant who moved to New York in 1870.
