in genotype homozygous organisms have similar alleles whereas heterozygous organism have dominant and recessive alleles. on the hand, in phenotype, in homozygous organisms phenotype will depend on whether and organism has both dominant or recessive alleles and in heterozygous organism the phenotype will be that produced by the dominant allele.

Heterozygous means that an organism has two different alleles of a gene. Homozygous means that the organism has two copies of the same allele for a gene. An organism's genotype is its specific combination of alleles for a given gene. The phenotype is the physical manifestation of an organism's allellic combination (also known as genotype).
