The  value   of Eurylochus  is  different  from  those  of  odysseus since  Eurylochus  values  a brave   death   while  odysseus value  life  and  gods.Eurylochus  and  Odysseus  led  a  group  of twenty two men  to  explore  the  island. Eurylochus  was  able   to  convince  the   sailors to  eat   the cattle when  he  said  they  might  as  well  die  bravely.
The values of Eurylochus, second in command on the ship, are different from those of Odysseus, the captain of the ship is in the way they respect the rules. Odysseus is told to not touch any of the cattle or sheep on the island where the Sun God Helios kept his flocks, and he passes on that warning to all the men. He is content to live on bread and water even though they are kept there a month by a storm. Eurylochus only thinks of himself and does not respect the warnings of the goddesses and convinces the sailors that they will die by eating the cattle or die of starvation, so they kill the cattle and eat them. The ship is struck by a lightening bolt sent by Zeus and everyone except Odysseus dies, as punishment for killing the cattle.
