Rearrangement of chromosomes includes many varieties of
events: deletions, inversions, duplications, and translocations. Each of these
events can be because of the DNA double helices breakage in the genome at two
different locations, followed by reconnecting of the chromosomes before they
were broken. Rearrangements could be induced artificially by using iodizing
radiation, consistent with the chromosomal origin rearrangements by breakage. In
this kind of radiation whereby x-rays and gamma rays are mostly used, is highly
energetic and numerous double-stranded are broken in DNA.
