Most likely A. To my recollection of the novel, Victor Frankenstein was actually quite sophisticated as a scientist. His pursuit for knowledge prompted him to work on creating the monster, while Eve in the story of creation sought knowledge in a physical form of an apple. Frankenstein’s downfall can be likened to the downfall of Adam and Eve from heaven because knowledge was, ultimately, the cause.
