The cerebral hemispheres are divided into the (1) frontal lobe, (2) temporal lobe, (3) parietal lobe, and (4) occipital lobe. The lobe that is responsible for the processing of auditory information is the temporal lobe. The temporal lobe is also called the primary auditory cortex which receives signal from the auditory pathway. In this cortex is also found the area for speech (Broca's area) and understanding (Wernicke's area) and its connection (arcuate fasciculus).
