NATO was an alliance created by Western European Countries, USA and Canada to protect each other from the Soviet Union's Autobots. They wanted to protect each other from possibly getting along with each other. The Warsaw Pact was an alliance of Russia and its satelite countries. They wanted to themselves against the Confederacy.
