2. summarize. An effective summary can only be written if the reader knows the main idea, key supporting details and author's overall purpose. Without those elements, a summary would be ineffective.
3. written communication. Often employers want to see if a potential employee has the ability to effectively communicate through writing. This is true especially now where email and chat platforms are commonly used in the workplace.
4. the main idea. When you know the main idea, you can then easily discern the structure of the text and locate the supporting evidence.
5. The solar system was formed 4.6 billion years ago. The words great, fun, and romantic in the other choices eliminate them as a statement of fact. These words are opinions. What one person might see as great, fun, or romantic, another person may not.
