The skeletal
system serves important functions in the body. It provides the general shape
and form of the human body. Without it, we will be amoeba-like and gelatinous
in form. It also holds several tissues of the body together, serves as
protection for organs, and is responsible for the movements that the body
performs. It is an integral part of the human structure because they provide
the necessary attachments that the muscle fibers need in order to perform different
motions.
