Three Mile Island Nuclear Generating Station (TMI), nuclear
power plant situated on three miles downriver from Middletown, Pennsylvania, has
two distinct divisions: the TMI-1 and TMI-2. It came to be known as the most noteworthy
accident in United States commercial nuclear energy, when it partially meltdown
on March 28, 1979. Even through the accident, it was reported that the power
plant had caused no mortality or cancer rates however it became a cause to make
the film, The China Syndrome, a blockbuster.
