amicable … wary
Although the new supervisor appeared to be very amicable to employees, Mr. Weisse encouraged me to be wary of my initial impression.
My decision comes from a place where amicable/wary seem the only reasonable choice for the sentence, as the other options do not make sense of the statement. Amicable/wary makes a sentence which has sense and it is also a common advice in workplaces that have friendly supervisors.
