Side of square = 2 × (Radius of inscribed circle)

Side of square = 2 × 5 cm

Area of shaded region = (Area of square) - ( Area of inscribed circle )

Area of shaded region =
[tex] {a}^{2} - \pi {r}^{2} [/tex]

Area of shaded region =
[tex] {10}^{2} - \frac{22}{7} \times {5}^{2} [/tex]

Area of shaded region = 100 - 78.571

[tex] = 21.428 \: ans. [/tex]
