Very interesting question.
Newton's 3 laws of motion consisted of:
1. Every object will remain in rest until an external force is applied to it
2. Second law states that the force acting on a body is equal to the acceleration of the body x mass
3. For every action there is an opposite and equal reaction.
We can apply all these 3 laws when e.g. eating cereals in breakfast.
The cereals are at rest, and once I apply force on them with a spoon, they accelerate but once they reach my mouth, they press against my tongue which exerts an opposite but equal reaction on them.
