The two most important heat absorbing gases in the lower atmosphere are Water vapor and carbon dioxide. The primary green house gases in Earth's atmosphere are water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and ozone. Greenhouse effect is the heating of the lower layer of the atmosphere from radiation that is absorbed by the gases that i have mention above.
