Students' epistemic beliefs can best be described as students' views about what knowledge is and how it is acquired. Epistemic beliefs refer to the concept of knowledge and learning how and how it is put the knowledge to use. What students' learn in school and life and how they are able to apply it to the "real world" makes a huge difference in how they succeed as time goes on.
