Renewable Resources- naturally replenished resources on a timescale (wind, sunlight, rain)
Nonrenewable Resources- resources that to not renew themselves at a sufficient rate on human timeframes (coal, natural gas, oil)

A non-renewable resource is, what it sounds like, non-renewable. These resources can be natural or not and usually take more than 100 years to renew. Examples of non-renewable resources include:
Natural gas - Natural gas usually take many many years to form by condensing dead plants and animals to there base oils. This includes oil.
Coal - Coal forms similar to Natural gas, by the condensation of dead things, usually taking more than 1000 years.
Minerals - Minerals are non-renewable due to the fact that they are created in many million years of star deaths and births or via dead creatures rotting out to where there core minerals are left, which is very rare.
