Parents and their children
often deepen their relationship through participation in sports which is an
example of a functionalist perspective. Functionalism, also known as structural
functionalism means that everyone in the society is interdependent and it all
have a purpose. In connection to the family whose relationship deepens through
sports; it serves as examples that each member is needed in order for them to
play a certain game and their goal is of course win the game. By this, they
will develop their communication and they will also learn how to value each
other.
