The limiting agent has due to following properties:
I. It completely reacted in the reaction.
II. It determines the amount of the product in mole.
The general reaction between Vanadium (v) oxide and Ca is as follows:
V2O5(s) + 5Ca(l) = 2V(l) + 5CaO(s)
Given that mole of V2O5(s) = 10.0 mole
Mole of Ca= 10.0 mole
10.0 mole Ca * 1 mole V2O5/ 5 mole Ca
= 2 mole V2O5
Hence used V2O5 is 2 mole , and Ca is completely used . thus here Ca is limiting agent and V2O5 is present in excess (10-2= 8 mole )
