Smoking can cause much harm to your lungs. Some of this includes a greater chance of mucus and infections, less airflow and fewer cilia. Cilia clean the lungs and just seconds after smoking a cigarette, they have already slowed. This can lead to numerous diseases which could eventually lead to severe issues and even death. Some key chemicals in tobacco include nicotine, the most addictive chemical in tobacco, tar, arsenic, Carbon monoxide, ammonia, and more. While the tobacco industry continues to bloom, new devices are being introduced to the public (Juul, vape, etc.). While these are hardly better than tobacco, they can help some people cut down or completely rid cigarettes. Individuals also have the option to purchase things such as patches or a certain type of gum which can help cut down on tobacco products. Some cities have even raised the age limit to purchase tobacco products.
