Answer by Mimiwhatsup: The thermosphere has the next highest temperature after the troposphere.
Different levels by Mimiwhatsup or Layers: Troposphere, Stratosphere, Mesosphere, Thermosphere.
Answer:
Thermosphere
Explanation:
After the troposphere, there are two layers of the atmosphere where the temperature increases with depth, and they are as follows-
- Thermosphere- This layer is above Mesosphere and in this region the temperature increases drastically with the increasing height. The temperature rises highly, from about -100 to more than about 50°C.
- Stratosphere- This layer is just above the troposphere and the temperature is directly proportional to the elevation. Here, the ozone layer is present which absorbs the harmful incoming solar radiation, due to which the temperature rises. In this layer, the temperature rises from about -40°C to about 5°C.
Since the maximum temperature of the troposphere is about 20°C, we can now observe that the maximum temperature of the stratosphere increases up to about 5°C and the thermosphere increases up to a maximum of 50°C.
So the atmospheric layer that has the next highest temperature after troposphere is the thermosphere.
